Throughout the week we offer the G-12 Mentoring program to individuals who meet in homogeneous group fellowships where they can discuss issues relevant to personal struggles, challenges or concerns they may have. The topics of discussion are taken from a broad spectrum of subject matter designed to build character, integrity and sense of community. The program has been a powerful tool in our church at transforming lives. Our men’s program in particular is extremely well attended and those involved continue to attend year-after-year.
Too often in poor communities men are absent from the home; unfortunately, there children are raised without the benefit of their presence in the home. This is especially difficult for mothers who are raising multiple children without an in-the-home father. We have found that this program allows men to recover there sense of manhood, fatherhood, respect and purpose in life. This process allows reflection through transparent discussion with other caring men in the group. The result is: fathers are healed and set free from issues; this outcome without question is having a dramatic impact upon the lives of their children. We see a strong relationship between this program and the mission of the X-IT Youth program. Returning responsible fathers to the family is critical to achieving our mission.
An incredible dynamic occurs when people begin to pray for each other. Prayer opens the heart and humbles the soul, it enables a person to see things they could not see before. The power of prayer changes things;, but more importantly, it changes hearts and ultimately it changes our lives. God infuses wisdom beyond anything we could have ever imagined, when as we simply humble our hearts and pray.
