The program consists of Friday evening activity and character building exercises. Friday nights are activity intensive where youth can assemble for safe, fun-filled fellowship and activities; building positive relationships with other youth and adults from the neighborhood.
We further envision daily after school fellowships throughout the city designed to build relationships where the emotional, educational and spiritual needs of youngsters are met.The educational focus of the after school program is entrepreneurial training, and the educational objectives are tutoring, mathematics, literacy and understanding small business. The academic portion is driven by a well written comprehensive small business training curriculum specifically written and designed for youth.
The After School program offers hands-on training in computer applications, graphic arts design, printing and related technologies. We anticipate this phase of the program will provide a revenue base and profit center as student’s contract with partner corporate clients. The students will learn and implement all necessary business management processes in order to sell their services in the market place. The potential markets for these services are local businesses, churches and corporate clients in the Camden area.
The skills gained in this process we believe will serve to prepare youth for meaningful careers in the marketplace. Our mission is to expose youth to the practical side of economics through the small business model, and to mentor them through this difficult period in child development.
